Although I wasn't fired... and actually quit the steady 9 to 5 job where I was an actual asset, quitting was just as liberating. In this tough society where leaving a solid job was frowned upon, I could never get paid enough to choose the office over the time spent with my husband. After being apart for months at a time, every moment is precious. No one on their death bed wishes they spent more time at work. I gave up everything to be with him and my family, and I don't regret it in the slightest.
Thanks for the great resume boss, but I'm spending the rest of my life following my passion and not missing out on who really matters the most. Even if that means taking a pay cut.
They are worth it.

Being laid off last October was one of the best things that ever happened to me-- sometimes you have to do something you really hate before you find your true passion and purpose in life.
